This first post is rather long as I have a back log of photos from our work. Future posts will deal with more specific stages.
While removing the ugly and broken tiles in the bathroom, we discovered that the problems went deeper.
Although I don't have a picture of it, we found that not only was the subfloor of the bathroom rotten, but that the floor joists and the beam they sit on were as well. We removed all of that and started replacing the bottom of the wall as you can see in this picture.
Here we have lamented (also called sistering) new longer treated joist onto the half rotten ones. The extra length of the joist will eventually be used to build a deck.

Yiani and I get underneath the house and jack up the whole corner on two car jacks and a cross beam to distribute the weight.
This allows us to get a new treated and laminated beam underneath the new floor joists.
Here you can see the new laminated beams and how they connect together with an improvised finger joint.
